My time in Paris
~ By Michael Ye
A Paris tour
As the final stop of our European summer trip, Paris stood out as my absolute favorite. Our first priority after breakfast in our Montparnasse hotel was a sightseeing tour. We marveled at monuments such as Napoleon's tomb, the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the Egyptian obelisk, and the Notre Dame. After a delightful meal in the Latin Quarter, we embarked on a scenic 5-kilometer journey along the Seine River, passing through the Louvre, the Tuileries Gardens, the Place de la Concorde, the Champs-Élysées, and finally arriving at the Arc de Triomphe once more. We capped off the day with a night cruise on the Seine, though I must admit the view was somewhat underwhelming.
Louvre
For our second day, we opted to explore Paris’s artistic treasures at the Louvre Museum. A particularly neat feature was the use of a Nintendo 3DS as the audio guide.
Versaille
To conclude our adventure, we paid a visit to the grandiose Palace of Versailles and its sprawling gardens.
